Welcome to Frances Brandon-Pickett Elementary School, located in Queen Creek, Arizona. You’ll find us south of Ocotillo Road and west of Rittenhouse. We are an elementary school serving students in the kindergarten through fourth grades. We are one of seven schools in the Queen Creek School District and are proud to be part of such a vibrant and growing community. Our school is the namesake of the teacher/artist, Frances Brandon Pickett. Looking to the left, when visitors enter our building, they will see the display case filled with artifacts and photos donated by Mrs. Pickett. Straight ahead they immediately gaze on the beautiful oil painting of mustangs which she painted especially for our school! We are honored to be a part of the heritage of Queen Creek. Our parents and community members support our school and students, and our teachers are dedicated to educating young minds. Due to the diligence of our superb faculty, our school has earned an Excelling label from the state of Arizona. We are proud of our Mustang family! Take some time and browse through our Web site. We want it to be a helpful resource for your family and the first place you go for information. As always, if you ever have questions, concerns, or suggestions, just let us know. We are always happy to talk with you! ![]() Dear Pickett Families, It is hard to believe, but we are in our final stretch of the 2011-12 school year. A big thank you goes out to all the parents for making sure your children were at school each day for AIMS/SAT-10 testing. We had very few absences and were able to get all students tested and materials returned on time. I am so proud of how hard the boys and girls have worked this year and all the growth they have made! The classroom teachers will continue teaching to the very end; students will learn new skills to prepare them for next year and be involved in projects where they can apply the skills they have learned. Due to the number of awards, our end of the year assembly format will be changing just a bit. In addition to the regular awards, students in third and fourth grade will be receiving medals for maintaining Honors, High Honors, and Principal’s List throughout the school year, and Coach Webster will also be awarding medals for various achievements. As usual, we will hold two assemblies, one for kindergarten thru second grade and another one for third and fourth grade. We will schedule one assembly in the morning and the other for the afternoon.
